What made you choose Fleurtacious as your wedding florist?

We booked Joe Elario Photography two years before our wedding, and I’ve been a faithful blog stalker ever since. I kept seeing Fleurtacious’ work on JP’s blog and fell in love with it.

How did Kris Ann help make your ideas come to life?

When it comes to flowers I’m clueless, but being a graphic designer, I was obsessed with the invites and colors, everything had to coordinate. I brought Kris Ann a copy of my “save the dates” and she started pulling out flowers that matched the colors and style of the “save the date” perfectly.

Was the end result what you expected?

After leaving the first meeting with Kris Ann, I knew I was going to have beautiful flowers and the end result was better than anything I could have imagined! Everything about the flowers was perfect.

Jess and Jason’s Wedding

What made you choose Fleurtacious as your wedding florist?

When I first became engaged in April of 2010, I started following the New York Wedding Boutique online.  After seeing Kris Ann’s work, I knew I wanted to use her as our florist.  Her work is simply incredible, and she has a reputation for being a perfectionist.  I was confident she would help us achieve the look we were going for.

How did Kris Ann help make your ideas come to life?

I first met with Kris Ann in her shop, along with my mother and our Wedding Planner, Christine Wheat.  We told Kris Ann that we were going for a vintage, crystal theme.  Kris Ann sat patiently while I showed her all of my inspiration photos.  I envisioned lots of candlelight and sparkle throughout the tent and she immediately showed me the multi-level crystal candleholders she had – they were a perfect fit.

A few weeks later, we met again to see some sample arrangements she had made so that we could actually see what our arrangements would look like.  When we walked into the room I was shocked as what I saw – it was exactly what we had envisioned!  Seeing our arrangements for the first time really helped me visualize what our wedding was going to look like and it made me so excited!  This also gave us the opportunity to “tweak” things a little so that the arrangements were exactly what we wanted.

What gave you inspiration/how did you decide on which flowers to choose?

I had a vision of a “white wedding” with large white, lush flower arrangements, with a little bit of lavender peeking through here and there.  Kris Ann told me which flowers would be best to achieve the look I was going for, while also being conscious of our budget.  She also recommended various types of lavender roses to help give a soft, romantic look, but add a little bit of color to the arrangements.

Was the end result what you expected?

Kris Ann and her team far exceeded our expectations.  When Jason and I walked into the tent our jaws dropped!  The flower arrangements made such a statement, yet were still soft and romantic, which is exactly what we were looking for.   Kris Ann’s willingness to please, design talents, and attention to detail made her a pleasure to work with.

Guest Entry by Laura: The “Hurricane Bride!”

Published: October 18th, 2011

Our last blog entry was a feature on Laura and Edward’s wedding photographed by Joe Elario Photography. Their wedding has been such a hit that we wanted to reach out to Laura to get her perspective on her big day. It’s amazing how well things went despite the weather. Rain, snow, or hurricane, your Fleurtacious Designs flowers will be delivered to you! :)

Since my (now) husband and I live in New York City, we knew that planning our wedding upstate would require us to have a lot of trust in our wedding vendors since most planning would have to be done remotely. I knew that Kris Ann and her team at Fleurtacious Designs would provide amazingly beautiful flowers, but I never could have guessed how important it was for me to have complete faith in everyone involved during our wedding day. My husband and I were married on 8.28.11 – the day Irene drenched and blew her way through the northeast.

The days leading up to our wedding day were stressful, to say the least. Every time I checked the weather online, it seemed like the predicted forecast was getting worse. Of course, I kept fielding the questions/comments no bride wants to have to answer in the days leading up to her wedding: “are you still going to have the wedding?”, “can’t you just reschedule?”, “I bet a lot of people won’t be able to make it”, “have you checked to see if everywhere has generators?”. Despite many people acting as if the world was surely going to end, Kris Ann and crew were completely prepared and proactive to make sure that our wedding day went as smoothly as possible.

I returned to the Glen Sanders Inn at midnight the night before the wedding to find Kris Ann in the lobby hauling in box after box of centerpiece bowls, flower stands, etc. into the ball room. The following day, the incredible flowers arrived on time – impressive since many roads were closed. Armed with Hunter wellies and a smile, Kris Ann brought the wedding bouquets to the bridal suite. The flowers were stunning and completely exceeded my expectations. Kris Ann and crew not only were on-hand to set-up in the morning, but were also there throughout the day to make sure flowers were brought from the ceremony at Union’s Memorial Chapel back to the reception at the Glen Sanders.

The bouquets, centerpieces and other decorative flowers provided by Fleurtacious Designs were perfect. I couldn’t have hoped for a more reliable or talented team to make our wedding day beautifully memorable.

Laura and Edward’s Glen Sanders Mansion Wedding

Laura and Edward got married at Union Chapel on the day Hurricane Irene hit! As you can tell from the photos, the bad weather couldn’t stop this couple from having an amazing time. Their reception was held at Glen Sanders Mansion. The pretty yellow color of many of the flowers brightened up this gloomy day.

Such a classy look of the soft butter yellow & gray…. hydrangea, garden roses, gray brunia & dusty miller.
